Chardham Yatra package 2026 itinerary covering Kedarnath Badrinath Gangotri Yamunotri
Quick Summary / Direct Answer

A complete Chardham Yatra package covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath typically takes 10-12 days by taxi, starting and ending in Haridwar or Dehradun. The standard route order is Yamunotri first, then Gangotri, followed by Kedarnath, and finally Badrinath. Package taxi fare depends on vehicle type and number of travelers — contact Uttarakhand Yatri on WhatsApp for a fixed quote.

The full Chardham Yatra — covering all four sacred shrines — is a significant journey best planned as a complete package rather than booked leg by leg. Here's a realistic day-wise itinerary and what to expect.

Standard route order

Most pilgrims follow this sequence: Yamunotri → Gangotri → Kedarnath → Badrinath, starting and ending at Haridwar or Dehradun. This order minimizes backtracking across the Garhwal valleys and is the route most taxi operators, including us, plan around by default.

Sample 11-day itinerary

  • Day 1: Haridwar/Dehradun to Barkot (halt near Yamunotri base)
  • Day 2: Yamunotri darshan (trek from Janki Chatti), return to Barkot or Uttarkashi
  • Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi to Gangotri
  • Day 4: Gangotri darshan, drive to Uttarkashi
  • Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (long drive day)
  • Day 6: Guptkashi to Gaurikund, trek to Kedarnath, darshan and overnight at Kedarnath
  • Day 7: Kedarnath darshan (early morning), trek down to Gaurikund, drive to Guptkashi/Rudraprayag
  • Day 8: Rudraprayag to Joshimath
  • Day 9: Joshimath to Badrinath, darshan
  • Day 10: Badrinath to Rudraprayag/Devprayag
  • Day 11: Return to Haridwar/Dehradun

This can compress to 9-10 days with longer driving days, or extend to 12-13 days with more rest halts — we adjust the plan based on your group's pace and preferences.

What's included in a taxi package

A typical Chardham taxi package covers the vehicle and driver for the full duration, including all halts and waiting days at each shrine. It does not usually include hotel stays, temple donations, helicopter bookings (for Kedarnath, if opted), or meals — these are arranged separately or can be bundled if you'd like a fully managed trip.

Choosing your vehicle for the full circuit

Given the length of this journey, vehicle comfort matters more than on a short trip. Innova and Innova Crysta are the most common choices for full Chardham packages, especially for families, given the daily driving hours involved. Smaller groups sometimes opt for Ertiga or Dzire to manage costs, though comfort trades off on the longer driving days.

Registration reminder

Biometric registration is mandatory for Chardham Yatra and should be completed online before travel — we can guide you through this when you book.
